Programming for Android and iOS

Java applets

Here are some of my very first applets for Java. Initially, these programs were normal executables but later on I decided to play around with them and see if I can make something fun that many people can enjoy. So have a go and play around some Snake ot Tetris right here on the site.

JTetris

This was one of my first games I have ever made in Java - a simple tetris game. At the time I was making it it was very useful because it introduced a lot of trivial programming problems that I hadn't encountered before, so it was definitely a good learning experience.

Anyway, here are the controls to play the game:

  • Left - left arrow key
  • Right - right arrow key
  • Drop - down arrow key
  • Rotate - up arrow key
 Have fun!

JSnake

Here's another game that I made. This was the first one ever actually. Inspired by a programming competition I won during my first year at uni, I decided to do a Java version of the Snake game and put it online. Note that this is not the complete version of the game, go to the Downloads section to find the full version.

Word count

As the name suggests, this is a simple word counter applet which just counts the number of words that are entered in the text field. A 'word' is set to be any number of characters separated by a whitespace.

Hangman

This is my implementation of the popular Hangman game. The rules are simple, try to guess the word by inputting single letters at a time before you are hanged. Each wrong letter results in another piece of the gallows to be put.

Palindrome Checker

A simple applet to check if a word or a phrase is a palindrome. Again, another essential algorithm that a programmer should have in his arsenal.

Anagram Checker

Two words are anagrams if they have the same letters in different order. This simple program, checks if two words are anagrams.
